Posterior subcapsular cataract is a common complication in patients with long-standing hyperlipidemia. However, there are no reports in the literature on the association between lipid abnormalities and the development of posterior subcapsular cataract. In this report, a series of patients who developed posterior subcapsular cataract were investigated to find out whether there is an association between lipid abnormalities and the development of this type of cataract. Three patients developed posterior subcapsular cataract after being treated for hyperlipidemia with diet or HMG CoA reductase inhibitor (simvastatin). One of the 3 patients was already on an oral hypoglycemic drug, a third of these drugs inhibit the metabolism of cholesterol. None of the 3 patients had diabetes mellitus. The other ocular features observed in these patients were lattice degeneration, posterior subcapsular opacities, and cortical cataract. The final visual acuity in 2 patients ranged between 20/20 to 20/50. The third patient developed peripheral posterior subcapsular cataract and dropped her vision to 20/100.Q:
How to pass a vector to a function and use a different one in the function?
I am trying to write a function to create a vector, a vector containing the differences between each element and the last element of a vector in the same vector. I need to use two different vectors in my function, the vector I am passing and the one I am getting.
I know I could use a for-loop, but the vector is huge, so I want to avoid the overhead of memory.
